Calvary Lutheran splits with Tuscumbia

Trevor Dusheke’s career night sent Calvary Lutheran past Tuscumbia 57-52 on Thursday.

Dusheke poured in 30 points while going 6-of-8 from 3-point range and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line. Beau Monson added nine points and five asssists, while Ross Schlichting had eight points.

Zane Humphreys paced Tuscumbia with 12 points, while Wyatt Ahart had 10.

Calvary led 13-10 after one quarter, 25-23 at halftime and 36-28 after three quarters.

Calvary (10-10) closes the regular season today at St. Elizabeth.

The Calvary girls couldn’t stop the 10th-ranked team in Class 1 as Tuscumbia rolled to a 79-33 win.

Kara Wehmeyer paced Calvary with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Sam Gunn pulled down 11 rebounds. Becca Thompson and Lizzy Oxley dished out three assists apiece.

Tuscumbia led 21-6 after one period, extended the advantage to 43-15 at halftime and took a 62-29 edge into the final quarter.

Calvary (10-10) travels today to St. Elizabeth, ranked eighth in Class 1.
