Father Tolton edges Helias, 68-67

Michael Porter Jr. gave the Helias Crusaders some trouble.

Porter, the third-ranked freshman in the country, poured in a game-high 35 points as Father Tolton held off Helias 68-67 on Tuesday night.

Helias jumped out to a 20-16 lead after the first quarter, but Tolton outscored the Crusaders 27-19 in the second quarter to take a 43-39 halftime lead. The Trailblazers maintained a 53-51 lead after three quarters and held off Helias in the final period.

Hale Hentges scored 21 points, while Isiah Sykes added 18, and Collin Caywood added 17 to lead the Crusaders.

Helias (16-6) will travel to Whitfield on Friday.
