Struemph pitches Lady Bears to title

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Missouri State Lady Bears got a commanding game from Erin Struemph and posted a 3-0 win against Texas-Arlington in Sunday’s championship game of the UTA Maverick Invitational.

On Friday, the Lady Bears opened the event with a 13-4 win against the host school in six innings.

Struemph then threw a complete-game three-hitter later in the day as Missouri State beat Central Michigan 6-3. She gave up three earned runs while walking two and striking out nine.

On Saturday, the Lady Bears beat South Dakota State twice, posting wins by 7-1 and 2-0 scores.

Missouri State is now 6-2 on the season.
