Some services closed for Presidents Day

Most federal, Missouri state and Cole County government offices will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents Day.

The Missouri State Archives also will be closed.

Exceptions include legislative offices, emergency services and law enforcement.

The U.S. Postal Service will operate on a holiday collection schedule Monday, with no regular mail deliveries. Express Mail will be delivered as required.

Many businesses will remain open, but some businesses and most financial institutions will be closed.

The Missouri River Regional Library in Jefferson City and Linn, and the Heartland Library in Miller and Maries counties, will be closed Monday. However, the Daniel Boone Library System in Boone and Callaway counties will remain open on the regular schedules.

Jefferson City government offices also will be open as usual.

Some area schools, including the Jefferson City Public Schools, will be closed, but other schools will be open.

Republic Services will collect trash and garbage as usual Monday.
