Big second half sends Helias girls past Tolton

COLUMBIA - The Helias Lady Crusaders broke out of their offensive doldrums in the second half, and it translated into a 48-34 win.

After one quarter Monday night, Helias and Father Tolton were tied at 4. At halftime, the Lady Crusaders found themselves in a 13-12 hole.

But Helias outscored Father Tolton 21-9 in the third quarter to take control and then salted the win away with a 15-12 scoring edge in the fourth.

Mai Nienhueser scored a game-high 13 points for the Lady Crusaders, while Molly Light had 10.

Hope Wright led Father Tolton with 11 points.

Helias (13-9) will host Boonville on Thursday.

The Helias junior varsity team claimed a 32-26 win against Father Tolton. Ashley Rehagen scored 10 points to pace the Lady Crusaders (14-2).
