Missouri softball picks up opening victories

WACO, Texas - The No. 14 Missouri softball team is off to a good start.

The Tigers picked up an 8-1 win against Alabama Birmingham before claiming 2-1 victory against Iowa in extra innings in the first round of Baylor's Getterman Classic on Friday.

Tori Finucane picked up her first collegiate victory after allowing three hits and no runs in five innings in the opener.

Casey Stangel also picked up her first win after allowing one run on four hits in eight innings in the nightcap.

Angela Randazzo and Corrin Genovese both homered to lead the Tigers offensively.

Missouri (2-0) will return to action today when the Tigers take on Lipscomb and Drake.
