Heart Ball 'going red' tonight

Linda Bryant decorates chalk paper to be used as a table decoration for the silent auction at the Mid-Missouri Heart Ball at the Capitol Plaza Hotel this evening. Bryant works for Schaefer House, which donated tableware for the auction. Those place settings will serve as a backdrop for other food and dining related auction items. Last year's gala raised more than $200,000 to fund lifesaving research and education.

Cindy Cook says she "goes red" because the American Heart Association saved her husband's life three times.

Her husband, Max, will share his story at the 23rd Annual Mid-Missouri Heart Ball at 5:30 p.m. today at Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City.

The Heart Ball is an American Heart Association fundraising event that celebrates lives saved and improved by research and education.
