Valentine’s Day was met with a bit of humor at the Missouri Legislature, and that humor was displayed on Twitter for all to see.

Tweets — some poking fun at issues or people at the Capitol — were posted with the #MOLegValentines hashtag.

We’ll let you be the judge of the tweets. Sweet? Too harsh? Hilarious?

Progress Missouri — a progressive advocacy organization — had a lot to say about “right to work.”

One tweet said, “Tell Speaker Jones so-called ‘right to work’ is wrong for #Missouri,” and it had a picture of Jones that said, “Baby, I love you the way Tim Jones loves ALEC.”

Progress Missouri also tweeted a photo of the Capitol that said, “Missouri legislature, I wanna hold you accountable.” In the tweet, the organization said, “So-called ‘right to work’ bills aren’t about jobs — they’re all about politics.”

Other #MOLegValentines tweets displayed issues involving health care in the state.

One tweet by Mark Jones, Missouri’s National Education Association political director, said, “Hey Girl, I need you the way 300,000 Missourians need #MoMedicaid Expansion. #MOLegValentines #moleg.”

Another of his tweets read, “Girl, our love is like a campaign contribution …. its got no limits. #MOLegValentines #moleg.”

Missouri journalists also got in on the #MOLegValentines action.

The Missouri Times’ Collin Reischman tweeted, “Baby, I’d never revenge porn you. #MOLegValentines.”
