Capitol issues inspire humorous Valentine tweets

Valentine's Day was met with a bit of humor at the Missouri Legislature, and that humor was displayed on Twitter for all to see.

Progress Missouri - a progressive advocacy organization - had a lot to say about "right to work."

One tweet said, "Tell Speaker Jones so-called "right to work' is wrong for #Missouri," and it had a picture of Jones that said, "Baby, I love you the way Tim Jones loves ALEC."

Progress Missouri also tweeted a photo of the Capitol that said, "Missouri legislature, I wanna hold you accountable." In the tweet, the organization said, "So-called "right to work' bills aren't about jobs - they're all about politics."

Other #MOLegValentines tweets displayed issues involving health care in the state.

One tweet by Mark Jones, Missouri's National Education Association political director, said, "Hey Girl, I need you the way 300,000 Missourians need #MoMedicaid Expansion. #MOLegValentines #moleg."

Another of his tweets read, "Girl, our love is like a campaign contribution .... its got no limits. #MOLegValentines #moleg."

Missouri journalists also got in on the #MOLegValentines action.

Eli Yokely with PoliticMo tweeted a photo of Gov. Jay Nixon and first lady Georganne Nixon. The tweet said, "You and I need to have a "Special Session.' #MOLegValentines #MOLeg."

The Missouri Times' Collin Reischman tweeted, "Baby, I'd never revenge porn you. #MOLegValentines."

Rep. Jeremy LaFaver, D-Kansas City, tweeted, "Your point of order is untimely. #MOLegValentines."
