Pedestrian hurt walking into moving car

A Jefferson City woman sustained minor injuries on Friday afternoon when she walked into a moving car and fell onto the street.

Police report Minoshia Humphrey, 59, was hurt in the 3:34 p.m. mishap in the 1000 block of Missouri Boulevard.

Humphrey was a pedestrian who was standing in the center turn lane outside of the crosswalk when a car driven by Halie Cavin, 17, Jefferson City, began turning from northbound Michigan Street to westbound Missouri Boulevard. Humphrey reportedly started walking, hit the side of Cavin's moving vehicle, fell down and injured her head on the roadway.

When officers arrived, Humphrey was still in the roadway but conscious. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
