ATLANTA — Erin Struemph got the first win of her college career thanks to some strong relief work Saturday.
Struemph (St. Elizabeth High School) pitched the final four innings in relief to help Missouri State beat Georgia Tech 6-3 in the second game of a season-opening doubleheader.
Struemph entered in the bottom of the fourth with runners at second and third and recorded three straight strikeouts to end the threat. She ended up striking out six in the game, not allowing a run while walking two and giving up three hits.
Struemph also pitched in the first game, a 3-0 loss, striking out one in 2/3 of an inning.
