Your Opinion: Skipping past familiar rants

Dear Editor:

I am writing to agree with Danny Landers in the Feb. 6 edition.

I read your paper from beginning to end, but in the last few months when I get to the Opinion Page, I check the names and if the “oh so familiar” ones are there, I just skip that page except for Jim Dyke’s cartoon.

I do not feel the need to read the ranting and raving of a very small group of people. Please invite them to a coffee, and let them settle their issues face-to-face without including the rest of us.

Issue-oriented letters to the editor in response to this or about other local topics are welcome. All letters should be limited to 400 words. The author's name must appear with the letter, and the name, address and phone number provided for verification. Letters that cannot be verified by telephone will not be published.
