Westminster's Lutz breaks schools all-time scoring record

FULTON, Mo. - Leigh Ann Lutz is at the top of the list.

Lutz (California High School), a senior at Westminster, broke the school's all-time scoring record during an 81-71 victory Wednesday against Greenville College. Her 25-point effort leaves Lutz with 1,289 points, breaking the old record, 1,282 set by Amy Schaeperkoetter from 1994-98.

"It is a huge honor to hold the all-time scoring record, but I owe all of the credit to some really great teammates throughout my four years here," Lutz said. "Reaching 1,289 points takes 500-plus great passes."

Lutz also holds the Westminster record for 3-pointers made in a career with 229. She has five more games to add to her total.

Sadie Theroff (Jefferson City High School) went 6-of-7 from 3-point range to score 20 points in the win.

Westminster (9-10, 7-6 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) plays Saturday at Fontbonne University in St. Louis.
