Father Tolton, North Callaway, and Harrisburg pick up wins

ASHLAND - The boys finally got their chance to play in the Southern Boone Classic.

After getting snowed out Tuesday and Wednesday, the boys' portion of the event began Thursday, and Father Tolton, North Callaway and Harrisburg posted victories.

In the opener, third-seeded Father Tolton dropped sixth-seeded Linn 75-59.

Father Tolton led 21-16 after one quarter, 35-25 at halftime and 57-40 after three periods.

Sam Vogel dropped in a game-high 22 points for Linn (8-9), while Michael Porter Jr. scored 21 to pace Father Tolton.

In the next game of the night, seventh-seeded North Callaway upset second-seeded California 60-56.

Top-seeded Harrisburg then scored a 75-58 win against eighth-seeded Southern Boone.

No. 4 Fatima was taking on No. 5 Hallsville in Thursday's late game.

In today's loser's bracket semifinals, Southern Boone will meet the Fatima-Hallsville loser at 4:30 p.m. and California will play Linn at 9 p.m. In the winner's bracket, Harrisburg will take on either Fatima or Hallsville at 6 p.m. and North Callaway will take on Father Tolton at 7:30 p.m.
