Due to hazardous road conditions, especially in many of the district's rural areas, along with extremely cold temperatures predicted for early Thursday morning, Jefferson City Public Schools will not be in session on Thursday.
Parent-teacher conferences were scheduled at many schools for Thursday night. Those have been postponed and the makeup dates are as follows:
Elementary Schools: Feb. 10 and 13
Middle Schools: Feb. 11 and 13
Simonsen Ninth Grade Center, Jefferson City High School and Nichols Career Center: Feb. 13
The Jefferson City Public Schools will not use Feb. 14, staff compensation day, or Feb. 17, President's Day, for makeup dates.
After tomorrow's snow day, the district will have used five of their six days set aside of inclement weather makeup days. The last day of school as of Thursday's snow day will be May 28.
