Meyer expects QB Miller back at Ohio State

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - There's plenty of speculation about where Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller will play next season.

Coach Urban Meyer keeps insisting that he expects Miller to return to the Buckeyes.

During the final news conference before Thursday night's Sugar Bowl, Meyer was asked if he's talked with Miller about his future. The star quarterback went down in August with a season-ending shoulder injury, and he's able to transfer without sitting out a year since he's already graduated.

"There are a lot of things that go on out there that are out of his control," Meyer said. "So, we've had conversations, and I expect him to be back at Ohio State."

J.T. Barrett took over for Miller and wound up finishing fifth in the Heisman Trophy balloting. Barrett sustained his own season-ending injury in the regular-season finale against Michigan, and Cardale Jones did a stellar job taking over in the Big Ten championship game, winning the MVP award in a 59-0 blowout of Wisconsin.

Jones will make his second career start in the Sugar Bowl against top-ranked Alabama. Next season, Barrett and Jones will return to the Buckeyes, which would appear to make Miller the odd man out.

Meyer - at least for now - is talking like he'll have all three quarterbacks in 2015.
