Dear Editor:
For several years now 3rd District Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer has been repeatedly bashing Obama about the high price of gas and for not increasing the amount of energy produced in this country. And also for not approving that dirty, polluting XL pipeline. He stated several times if that pipeline were allowed to be put across this country we would have all the gas we would ever need for $2 per gallon or less.
But guess what, we have now more domestically produced energy in this country (over 9 million barrels) without that XL pipeline and gas is now nearing $2 a gallon. But Blaine doesn't say a word about that now does he? He has been wrong about so many things so many times it isn't even funny any more.
And furthermore experts have and still are predicting that if the pipeline were to be built that there is a real possibility that a break and a spill would destroy America's biggest freshwater aquifer and be devastating to this country.
There have been numerous breaks already where the pipeline has already been built in Canada and the Dakotas. That pipeline would go across America's largest freshwater aquifer - one of which covers eight states all the way to Texas. But Blaine obviously doesn't give a darn about that just so long as big oil pads his pockets and other Republicans.
Blaine continues to tout his high falluting ideas that will transform the 3rd District into a bonanza but he doesn't say the rich will get richer and the rest of us left behind does he?
