Craig McGee scored a game-high 15 points to lead three Roger Bacon players in double figures as the Spartans from Cincinnati claimed a 57-39 win against Western (Ky.) on Monday in the seventh-place game of the Joe Machens Great 8 Classic at Fleming Fieldhouse.
Justin Johnson scored 11 points while earning all-tournament honors and William Green finished with 10 to help lead Roger Bacon, which was 18-of-34 from the field and 17-of-25 from the free-throw line.
Terrell Howard, an all tournament selection for Western, scored 13 points to lead the Warriors, who were 13-of-39 from the field and 12-of-16 from the charity stripe.
The Spartans led 7-4 after the first quarter, 25-16 at halftime and took a 39-25 advantage into the final period before finishing off the Warriors down the stretch.
Western claimed a 32-18 rebounding advantage, but committed 21 turnovers compared to nine by Roger Bacon.
