A Jefferson City man was killed in a one-car accident at 12:15 a.m. Friday on U.S. 54, east of Shepherd Hills Road in Cole County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, a 2006 GMC Sierra, driven eastbound by Derek J. Schrimpf, 47, ran off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and overturned. Schrimpf was ejected from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Schrimpf was not wearing a seat belt.
