Nature center invites public to open houses

Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City is holding open houses from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday through Dec. 31.

On Saturday, scheduled activities include: crafts, games, exhibit hunt and archaeology in a box. Scheduled programs include: making cordage; furs and fables, puppet show and spider craft, and making and using quilts.

On Dec. 30, scheduled activities include: crafts, games, exhibit hunt and dulcimer music. Scheduled programs include: demonstrations, fireside stories, animal games and track discovery walk.

On Dec. 31, scheduled activities include: crafts, games, exhibit hunt and archaeology in a box. Scheduled programs include: leatherworking demonstrations, aquarium feeding and winter walk.

Refreshments will be served each day.
