KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Ariel Massengale scored 14 of her 18 points in the second half and No. 10 Tennessee beat No. 7 Stanford 59-40 on Saturday for its fifth consecutive victory.
Tennessee (9-2) led from start to finish and was never seriously threatened as it ended a three-game losing streak in the series. Stanford (6-4) went scoreless for an 8-minute stretch and made just one basket in the last 10 minutes of the first half.
Stanford has lost consecutive games for the first time since December 2010. The Cardinal lost 54-46 at Chattanooga on Wednesday night. Lili Thompson had 13 points for Stanford.
Bashaara Graves had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Tennessee. Isabelle Harrison also had 10 points.
NO. 1 SOUTH CAROLINA 80, CENTRAL MICHIGAN 45
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Tiffany Mitchell scored 18 points despite a bloody nose and South Carolina routed Central Michigan in the Minnesota Subway Classic.
The reigning Southeastern Conference player of year took a hit to the nose with about 6 minutes left in the first half. After a brief delay, she returned to finish with five steals and four rebounds.
Alaina Coates had 16 points and 10 rebounds for South Carolina.
Crystal Bradford, the reigning Mid-American Conference Player of the year, scored 20 points for Central Michigan (4-4).
NO. 9 BAYLOR 84, NO. 18 MICHIGAN STATE 65
WINTER PARK, Fla. (AP) - Imani Wright scored all 18 of her points in the second half and Baylor overcame a 15-point deficit to beat Michigan State in the Florida Sunshine Classic.
Niya Johnson added 15 points and 12 assists, and Nina Davis had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Bears (10-1), who limited the Spartans (7-3) to 19 second half-points.
Jasmine Lumpkin led the Spartans with 16 points, and Tori Jankoska had 15.
NO. 12 NEBRASKA 83, HIGH POINT 57
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Rachel Theriot scored a season-high 31 points, and Tear'a Laudermill added 22 to help Nebraska beat High Point.
Emily Cady had 12 points, six rebounds and three steals for Nebraska (10-1) before leaving with a bruised tailbone with about 15 minutes remaining.
Kaylah Keys had 14 points and four assists for High Point (6-5).
NO. 15 GEORGIA 58, FURMAN 51
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Shacobia Barbee scored a career-high 25 points and had 12 rebounds and five steals, and Georgia scored the last seven to close out Furman.
Krista Donald's layup with 4:34 gave the Bulldogs (11-0) the lead for good and Barbee's 3-pointer from the right wing made it 56-51 with 1:53 to play.
Sarah Durdaller led Furman (9-4) with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
NO. 16 OREGON ST 73, NEVADA 50
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Gabriella Hanson had 16 points, five rebounds and five assists to lead Oregon State past Nevada in the closing round of the New Orleans Shootout.
Samantha Siegner added 15 points for Oregon State (10-0).
Iman Lathan led Nevada (4-7) with 14 points.
NO. 17 RUTGERS 66, IONA 58
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) - Syessense Davis had 12 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and five steals in Rutgers' victory over Iona.
Copper led Rutgers (9-2) with 19 points, and Tyler Scaife added 12 points.
Damika Martinez scored 22 points for Iona (4-6).
Rachel Hollivay's layup with 1:33 left gave the Scarlet Knights a 62-55 lead and they made 4 of 6 free throws in the final minute.
NO. 22 WEST VIRGINIA 69, MARSHALL 56
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Bria Holmes scored 16 points, and Lanay Montgomery had 15 points and 14 rebounds in West Virginia's victory over Marshall.
Averee Fields added 12 points and Teana Muldrow had 14 rebounds for the Mountaineers (9-1).
Leah Scott and Norrisha Victrum had 15 points apiece for Marshall (6-3).
