New trial possible in shaken baby case

CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A St. Louis-area woman accused in the shaking death of a 13-month-old girl may get a new trial date.

Jennifer Winkler of Eureka pleaded no contest in August to first-degree involuntary manslaughter in the 2011 death of Lily Annabella Rieger. Authorities say the girl was injured while Winkler was at her home watching Lily. She had been hired by Lily's parents.

Winkler withdrew her plea two days before she was to face sentencing last month. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1wIs8J9) reports that Winkler's attorneys are expected to inform the judge by Jan. 5 whether she will go to trial.
