The Miller County Sheriff's Department is warning residents about a scam.
According to sheriff's reports, many residents reported getting a call from a person stating they are Greg Alan with a sheriff's office of an unknown department.
This man was telling people that they have missed a grand jury summons or some other violation and that they need to pay a fine of $5200.
He also said the sheriff wants the person to pay the money on a green dot card.
Sheriff's department officials said if you receive a call from this person you should ignore what this person has to say because he will also try and tell you that you have a warrant for your arrest and that officers are on their way to pick you up, which is false information.
