Ichabods top Lincoln women

In the women's game Thursday, Lincoln shot just 25 percent from the field and dropped a 61-46 decision.

The first-half shooting was even worse for the Blue Tigers, as they made just 5-of-28 shots (18 percent) and fell behind 33-16 at intermission.

Washburn made just 38 percent (12-of-32) in the opening half and still held that 17-point edge. The Ichabods made just 36 percent for the game (22-of-62), but held a 50-40 rebounding advantage to help offset that.

Washburn, which never trailed, jumped out to a 22-10 lead after the fist 121/2 minutes. The Ichabods' 17-point lead at halftime matched their biggest lead of the first half.

Lincoln never got closer than 11 points in the second half and Washburn's lead twice hit 19 points.

Kate Frazier dropped in 14 points to lead Lincoln, while Seleena Neal added 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

Taylor Ignoto had a game-high 19 points to pace Washburn and Honor Duvall had 13.

Washburn improved to 9-1 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA, while Lincoln dropped to 5-4 and 0-3.

The Blue Tigers return to action at 1:30 p.m. Saturday when they host Nebraska-Kearney.
