Lincoln women, men hosting Washburn tonight

The Lincoln men's basketball team is back in action after an 11-day break while the Blue Tiger women continue a three-game homestand today against Washburn in a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association matchup.

The women's game will start at 5:30 p.m., with the men's game to follow at 7:30 p.m.

The Blue Tiger women (5-3, 0-2) will have their hands full against Washburn (8-1, 1-1), ranked No. 11 in the USA Today/Division II Coaches Poll. The Ichabods' only loss came Dec. 6 against Missouri Southern.

Washburn is led by Taylor Ignoto, who averages 15 points per game. Casyn Buchman (13.9 ppg) and Honor Duvall (12.4 ppg) are also averaging double figures for the Ichabods.

Lincoln, which is coming off a 72-47 win Saturday against Illinois-Springfield, is led by Kelsey Williams' 12.8 points per game. Williams has missed the last two contests with a back injury, but could return today.

Kate Frazier leads the team in steals (18) and blocks (12). Dorian Briggs is averaging 12.7 points and Hunter Yoakum is next with 12.3 to help pace the Blue Tigers on offense.

Meanwhile, the Lincoln men are back at it for the first time since Dec. 7, when the Blue Tigers (4-7, 1-1) suffered 93-70 loss to Central Oklahoma.

Washburn (5-7, 1-1) is coming off a 76-61 win against Tabor on Monday to snap a two-game skid.

Alex North leads the Ichabods in scoring (13.5) and rebounding (6.9) while Kyle Wiggins is next on the scoring chart at 10.1 points per night.

Lincoln senior Joshua Buie leads the Blue Tigers in points (17.7) assists (46) and steals (20), while fellow senior Mike Smith is close behind at 14.1 points per game.
