Several area football players earn all-state honors from media

Several area football players have been named to the all-state teams selected by media members from around the state released this morning.

• A pair of Jefferson City Jays were named to the Class 6 first team - Travis Burris at linebacker and J.T. Bohlken at punter.

• Five Helias Crusaders were named to the Class 4 squad. Alex Faddoul at quarterback, Hale Hentges at tight end and Brody Buschjost on the line were all first-team picks on offense. On defense, Blake Wilbers was selected to the first team as a lineman, while Todd Buschjost was a second-team selection in the secondary.

• The Blair Oaks Falcons are represented by Caleb Bischoff as a second-team linebacker in Class 3.

• The California Pintos had four players selected in Class 3. Jaden Barr was a first-team pick on offense at all-purpose. On defense, Allan Burger was a first-team pick at linebacker as was Landon Mouse in the secondary. Nathan Squires was a second-team selection on the defensive line.

• The School of the Osage Indians had three players named to the Class 3 teams. Collin Samuelson was selected to the first team as a receiver, while Brad Russell was a first-team pick on the defensive line. Russell Williams was named to the second-team defense in the secondary.

• The South Callaway Bulldogs had four players selected to the Class 2 squads. Cory Hanger, a running back, and linebacker Dillon Stone were first-team selections. Making the second team were quarterback Troy Hentges and defensive lineman Luke Horstman.

In addition, Tim Rulo of South Callaway was selected the Class 2 Coach of the Year.
