Another football honor for Lincoln's Henderson

The postseason awards keep rolling in for Morris Henderson.

The Lincoln senior was selected Monday as a BOXTOROW All-American honorable mention for his work as a return specialist.

Since 2007, BOXTOROW has put together an All-American team based on votes from media members across the country who cover HBCU football.

Henderson was one of 10 players this season in NCAA Division II to return multiple kickoffs for touchdowns and led the Great Lakes Valley Conference by averaging 32.0 yards on 11 kick returns. Henderson scored on a 91-yard return in Lincoln's season opener against Langston before taking one back 87 yards against McKendree.

This marks the fourth postseason award for Henderson, who was an All-GLVC first team selection and a Beyond Sports Network All-Region second team honoree as a return specialist. Henderson was also voted to the All-GLVC second team as a running back.

Henderson led the GLVC and finished ninth in the country with 20 total touchdowns, and also led the GLVC and finished 13th in the country with 1,813 all-purpose yards, including 352 on kickoff returns.

Henderson nearly broke his own school rushing record this season, gaining 1,191 yards on 215 carries to go along with 16 rushing touchdowns. Against Quincy, he ran for six scores, the most of any player in Lincoln history.
