Lamberson heading to Kearney

KEARNEY, Neb. - University of Central Missouri offensive coordinator Josh Lamberson has been named head football coach at Nebraska-Kearney.

The university announced Sunday night Lamberson would be introduced at a news conference today on campus.

Lamberson said in a statement Nebraska is a proud football state and he plans to build the program around in-state players who are hard-nosed and committed to success.

The 32-year-old Lamberson is a native of Wilber, Neb. He has been an assistant coach at Central Missouri, Southeastern Oklahoma State and Northwest Missouri State. He was at Central Missouri for five years, the last four as offensive coordinator.

Lamberson replaces Darrell Morris, who was UNK's head coach for 15 years.

Lamberson signed a three-year contract with an annual salary of $100,000.
