JC man receives probation for child porn

A Jefferson City man pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and was placed on five years supervised probation.

A charge of first-degree promoting pornography against Jonathan Cox, 28, of 420 Case Ave., was dismissed earlier.

Court documents show Cox had been under investigation from August through October 2013.

When authorities searched Cox's residence, he admitted using a file-sharing program to search and download child pornography files.

He admitted to actively downloading child pornography for several years, saying the file contained images of children as young as 2 years old.
