Drug bust results in shock detention for woman

A Florida woman pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in connection with a drug bust in Cole County in November 2012.

Katelin Borden, 24, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. She had been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

She was placed on two years unsupervised probation and ordered to do 30 days shock detention.

The Missouri Highway Patrol arrested Borden after finding several pounds of marijuana and thousands of dollars in her boyfriend's car and home.

According to patrol reports, a trooper initiated a traffic stop near West Stadium Boulevard and Hyde Park Road and the smell of marijuana was detected from inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed about a half pound of marijuana, while a search of the home revealed about 15 pounds of marijuana, distribution materials, and more than $50,000 in cash.
