State employees raise more than $1 million for charities

The Missouri State Employee Charitable Campaign (MSECC) raised more than $1 million for the 11th consecutive year, bringing the 30-year total to more than $27 million.

The Office of Administration announced that the 2015 MSECC had the largest increase in donations since the 2010 campaign. Through MSECC, state employees and retirees donated funds to 926 Missouri charities. This annual fundraiser allows participants to donate via payroll deductions or one-time gifts. The donations have exceeded $1 million for 14 of the 30 years it has existed.

"For 30 years, Missouri state employees' extraordinary compassion for those in need has been displayed through their abundant contributions to the annual charitable campaign," Gov. Jay Nixon said. "I am humbled by their kindness, and so proud of the impact this campaign has had on organizations across the state. To exceed the $1 million mark every year for more than a decade is a true testament to the generosity of state employees and their families."
