MFA Oil Company's growth continues with purchase of PB's Propane

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- MFA Oil Company, a farmer-owned cooperative based in Columbia, acquired PB's Propane, a family-owned propane retailer based in West Plains.

PB's Propane has been in operation for 31 years and was owned and operated by Larry and Shirley Butler.

MFA Oil will be servicing these new accounts from the existing company location in West Plains in southern Missouri. MFA Oil will retain the employees, and Bill Poe will manage the combined operation. Poe formerly managed Home Service Propane out of Poplar Bluff, which was recently purchased by MFA Oil.

"The purchase of PB's Propane allows us to maximize our efficiencies in this area to service these new customers so we can continue to bring value to all of our customers," said MFA Oil President and CEO Mark Fenner in a press release. "The Butlers ran a quality company and we are thankful they chose MFA Oil when they decided to sell the propane business."

This is the third acquisition of MFA Oil's fiscal year and its 10th acquisition in the last 12 months. MFA Oil continues to look for opportunities to purchase companies in its existing market area as well as expand its footprint to other states.
