UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) - Paul Stastny scored twice - including the go-ahead goal in the third period - and the Blues rallied to beat the New York Islanders 6-4, on Saturday giving relief goaltender Martin Brodeur his first win in a St. Louis uniform.
Stastny's second goal of the game and his fifth of the season at 13:26 of the third snapped a 4-4 tie and gave the Blues their first lead. St. Louis fell behind 3-0 in the first period, then replaced starter Jake Allen with Brodeur to start the second.
Brodeur made 14 saves for career win No. 689 and his 52nd against the Islanders, the most for the 42-year-old goaltender against any team. Brodeur stopped Brock Nelson and Anders Lee in front early in the third and was hardly tested late.
PENGUINS 3, SENATORS 2
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Evgeni Malkin scored twice and Christian Ehrhoff added the go-ahead goal with 1:50 remaining in the third period to give Pittsburgh Penguins a win over Ottawa.
With the win, the Penguins avoided losing consecutive games in regulation this season and lifted their record against Atlantic Division teams to 8-0-1.
David Legwand and Mike Zibanejad scored for the Senators.
The loss was Ottawa's fifth in a row. The Senators, 1-6-1 in their past eight games, were coming off a 2-1 loss at home Thursday against the New York Islanders that included an emotional retirement ceremony for longtime Ottawa captain Daniel Alfredsson.
FLYERS 2, KINGS 1
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Steve Mason made 37 saves and Philadelphia got goals from Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds in victory over Los Angeles, snapping a six-game losing streak.
The victory was only the second in 12 games for the Flyers, who avoided tying the franchise record of 10 consecutive road losses.
Justin Williams scored for the defending Stanley Cup champions and Jonathan Quick faced only 16 shots. The Kings were scoreless on the power play against a penalty-killing unit that came in with the league-worst 74.4 success rate.
CAPITALS 4, DEVILS 1
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Jay Beagle and Evgeny Kuznetsov scored 3:25 apart in the second period and Braden Holtby stopped 33 shots to lead Washington Capitals over New Jersey Devils.
Karl Alzner and Brooks Laich also scored for Washington, which improved to 12-10-4. The Capitals have won two straight and three of their last five.
Patrik Elias scored and Cory Schneider had 25 saves while starting for the 25th time in New Jersey's 27 games this season. The Devils have lost eight of their last 10 and are 3-5-1 against Metropolitan Division teams.
New Jersey dropped to 3-4-3 at Prudential Center, having played the fewest home games of any NHL team this season.
Washington took control with the two goals in the second period to take a 3-1 lead. Laich's empty-netter with 23 seconds remaining capped the scoring.
PANTHERS 3, SABRES 2
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Nick Bjugstad scored late in the second period and rookie Aaron Ekblad had three assists to lift Florida over Buffalo.
Tomas Kopecky and Brad Boyes also scored for the Panthers Roberto Luongo made 26 saves.
Brian Gionta and Drew Stafford scored for Buffalo and Michal Neuvirth stopped 34 shots.
The Panthers are 4-1-1 in their past five games and have won five in a row over Buffalo going back to last season.
BLACKHAWKS 3, PREDATORS 1
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Marian Hossa scored two goals to lead Chicago over Nashville.
Brandon Saad had a goal and an assist for Chicago, which won its sixth game in a row and ninth in the last 10. With the win, the Blackhawks took over the Central Division lead.
Colin Wilson had the lone goal for Nashville, which saw its seven-game home winning streak end.
Saad scored the game's first goal at 14:53 of the opening period.
Just outside the Nashville blue line, Hossa and Duncan Keith forced a turnover by Nashville's Eric Nystrom. Saad carried the puck in on the left side and beat Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne with a wrist shot high to the far side.
Hossa doubled the Chicago lead at 2:48 of the second.
BLUE JACKETS 3, LIGHTNING 1
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Sergei Bobrovsky made 33 saves to help Columbus beat Tampa Bay for its third straight win.
Boone Jenner, David Savard and Jack Skille scored for the Blue Jackets. Bobrovsky lost his shutout bid with 1:13 left in the third on Ondrej Palat's goal. The Columbus goalie was coming off a career- and franchise-best 52 saves in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over Florida.
The Eastern Conference-leading Lightning had their five-game home winning streak end and fell to 5-1-1 in their last seven games.
Bobrovsky had 14 saves in the first period, including an in-close chance by Brenden Morrow. Bobrovsky also stopped excellent scoring chances by Brian Boyle, Palat and Steven Stamkos during the second.
RED WINGS 3, RANGERS 2
DETROIT (AP) - Darren Helm and Detroit rallied to beat New York and give coach Mike Babcock his 500th career victory.
Helm's wrist shot past Cam Talbot broke a 2-2 tie midway through the third period and capped a three-goal comeback that lifted the Red Wings to their second straight win. Jimmy Howard had 27 saves.
Cam Talbot made 31 saves for the Rangers, who lost after a four-day layoff.
Kevin Klein opened the scoring and Rick Nash added his 17th goal to send New York to the first intermission with a 2-0 lead but Detroit's Riley Sheahan and Luke Glendening scored a minute apart in the second to tie the score.
BRUINS 5, COYOTES 2
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Brad Marchand scored twice, Tuukka Rask stopped 31 shots and Boston used a quick start to beat reeling Arizona and avoid a winless road trip.
Kevan Miller, Simon Gagne and Loui Eriksson also scored for Boston, which won at Arizona for the fifth straight time and finished 1-3 on its western trip.
Marchand scored 58 seconds in and added his team-best eighth goal late in the second period that chased Coyotes goalie Devan Dubnyk.
Joe Vitale's second-period goal ended Arizona's 185:34 scoring drought at home. The Coyotes lost their seventh straight on home ice for the longest home skid since the franchise moved to Arizona in 1996.
Mikkel Boedker added a power-play goal early in the third period for the Coyotes.
DALLAS 4, CANADIENS 1
DALLAS (AP) -Tyler Seguin had two goals and an assist to help Dallas beat slumping Montreal, ending a four-game losing streak.
Cody Eakin and Ryan Garbutt also scored for the Stars, who had goals during a 5-on-4 power play, a 5-on-3 advantage, while skating 4-on-4 and into an empty net. Kari Lehtonen finished with 16 saves to earn his first victory since Nov. 25.
Seguin leads the NHL with 21 goals.
Sven Andrighetto scored for Montreal in his NHL debut and Carey Price stopped 25 shots. The Canadiens dropped to 1-5-1 in their last seven games after a 16-5-1 start to the season.
Dallas limited Montreal to a season-low 17 shots after allowing an average of 38 over the previous six games.
MAPLE LEAFS 5, CANUCKS 2
TORONTO (AP) - Jonathan Bernier made 44 saves and Toronto Maple Leafs got goals from five different players in a win over Vancouver.
Ryan Miller, whose strong play has been a big part of the Canucks' resurgence, gave up four goals on 14 shots before giving way to Eddie Lack. One of those was an own goal put in by Yannick Weber.
The Canucks outshot the Leafs 46-28.
Jake Gardiner got credit on Weber's mistake, and Richard Panik, Peter Holland and Joffrey Lupul scored for the Leafs, who rebounded from a poor effort Thursday night against the New Jersey Devils. David Clarkson added an empty-netter.
Daniel Sedin and Christopher Tanev had Vancouver's goals.
Lack stopped all 13 shots he faced in relief for the Canucks, who continue their Eastern Conference tour Sunday night when they visit the Ottawa Senators.
SHARKS 3, FLAMES 2
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Logan Couture scored and set up Patrick Marleau's tiebreaking goal as San Jose beat Calgary Flames.
Justin Braun also scored for the Sharks and Antti Niemi finished with 33 saves.
Mark Giordano and Johnny Gaudreau scored for Calgary, which snapped its four-game winning streak. Karri Ramo stopped 27 shots and snapped a personal six-game win streak.
Marleau scored the winner at 9:18 of the third period on a unique play. When Couture swatted at the puck behind the net, it deflected off the stick of Flames defenseman Giordano and went high into the air, sailed over top of the Calgary net and came down right in front of Marleau. Marleau then batted the puck out of the air past Ramo, who had no idea where the puck was.
