Former JCPS employee pleads guilty to sex charge

A former Jefferson City Public School District employee has pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor in Callaway County.

Michael Washington Sr., 43, of Jefferson City, was placed on five years supervised probation.

He had been charged with two counts of enticement of a child, but those were dismissed.

Court records show the Callaway County Sheriff's Department received a complaint in July 2013 that Washington had been inappropriately touching and talking with a victim who was underage.

Washington, who was indicted in April, had worked in the Jefferson City school system since 2009 until his contract as an in-school suspension aide was not renewed in August 2013.
