7 area residents hurt in 5 accidents

An Eldon man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 1:15 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 54 at Business 54 in Eldon in Miller County.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Honda motorcycle, driven eastbound by David E. Weeces, 57, lost control and traveled off the right side of the road, ejecting Weeces and striking a ditch.

Weeces was taken to St. Mary's Health Center. He was wearing a safety device.

• A Vienna woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 6:15 p.m. Sunday on Missouri 42, west of Belle in Maries County.

The patrol reported a 1972 Ford 100 pickup, driven westbound by Laura L. Fleimann, 56, traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected and went off the left side of the road, overturned, striking several trees.

Fleimann was taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center.

She was wearing a seat belt.

• A Lohman pedestrian was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 4:50 p.m. Sunday on St. Michael's Road, north of Old Route C in Cole County.

According to the patrol report, a 2011 Cub Cadet lawn tractor was parked partially on the road with a pedestrian, Joy A. Heidbreder, 60, standing in front of the vehicle. A 2000 Buick Century, driven southbound by Adam J. Lueckenhoff, 31, Lohman, failed to observe the lawn tractor and struck it causing the lawn tractor to strike Heidbreder.

She was taken to University Hospital in Columbia.

• Three women were injured in a one-car accident at 9:15 p.m. Sunday on Route WW at County Road 259 in Callaway County.

The patrol reported a 1997 Toyota Corolla, driven eastbound by Taylor M. Peterson, 20, Fulton, was traveling too fast for conditions and lost control. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and overturned.

Peterson and two passengers, Kaylee M. Peterson, 20, Fulton, and Lindsey N. Peterson, 20, Jefferson City, were taken to Boone Hospital.

No one was wearing a seat belt.

• A Jefferson City man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 12:20 p.m. Monday on Southwood Hills near Southwood Acres in Cole County.

The patrol reported a 2007 Suzuki GT 250R, driven westbound by David W. Fisher, 23, was laid on its side and traveled off the left side of the road and struck two mailboxes.

Fisher was taken to University Hospital in Columbia.
