Your Opinion: "Stonewalling' by Obama administration

Dear Editor:

According to a recently released Inspector General's report, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released over 2,000 illegal immigrants, many of them convicted criminals, over a two-week period in 2013. They had plans to release another 3,000.

For weeks afterward people in Obama's administration denied that it happened. Apparently no one at ICE bothered to tell the Homeland Security secretary that they were releasing illegals with felony convictions. Has Obama told his people that he doesn't want to be told what is happening during his administration, or is this just more proof of his inability to manage those in government?

In May, Homeland Security admitted they had released 36,007 convicted criminal illegal immigrants in 2013. Among those released there were 193 homicide convictions and 426 convictions of sexual assault.

Why is this president allowing, more likely encouraging, the release of these illegals? There isn't a chance that these people would be allowed to immigrate here legally, but as long as they come here illegally this president will protect them from deportation.

One excuse being given for releasing illegals with criminal convictions was a lack of funding to keep them locked up. Isn't it interesting that this president thinks our nation has $3.7 billion laying around somewhere to feed and house the flood of new illegals who have come here, at least in part, because of his refusal to enforce current immigration law, yet there is not enough money to keep illegals with criminal convictions behind bars until they can be deported.

It is obvious why 47 Inspector Generals, more than half of them, signed a letter complaining about being "stonewalled" by those in this "most transparent administration in history" when they try to get information. The more investigation that is done the more incompetence is uncovered.

Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter must, at least secretly, be breathing sighs of relief as Obama continues to prove that he is worthy of taking the crown of America's most incompetent president from Jimmy.
