A Cole County jury found a man from French Village, Mo., guilty of taking nearly $5,000 while working as a co-manager at the Country Kitchen restaurant on Jefferson Street in Jefferson City.
Matthew Ball, 32, is charged with one count of felony stealing. His sentencing is scheduled for October.
A police department probable cause statement shows Ball was responsible for taking care of bank deposits. Between April 1 and 8, 2012, six deposits were filled out by Ball, but never arrived at the bank.
After the last missing deposit, Ball left on questionable medical leave and never returned to work.
