An Eldon woman was killed and a Kaiser woman seriously injured in a two-vehicle wreck Friday in Miller County.
Eldon resident Camilla C. Wilson, 70, was pronounced dead, while her passenger, Luella L. Campbell, 76, Kaiser, was seriously injured and taken to University Hospital in Columbia.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said a vehicle driven by Wilson was eastbound on U.S. 54, about 100 yards east of Lakeland Drive in Miller County at about 5:20 p.m. The car veered into the path of a tractor-trailer, also eastbound, driven by Gilbert J. Davis, 41 of Dover, Ark.
The front end of the tractor-trailer struck the rear of Wilson's vehicle. Wilson's vehicle came to rest in both eastbound lanes of U.S. 54. Davis' vehicle came to rest on the shoulder of U.S. 54.
For the patrol's Troop F, it was the fourth fatality in August and 45th for the year.
