When the News Tribune prints a Jim Dyke cartoon that shows the Jefferson City/Cole County community in a favorable light, I want to encourage it. Bravo to both the paper and Dyke for his cartoon of Aug. 12, memorializing the passing of Wyn Riley. It showed a lot of class on behalf of the paper and Dyke. Well done.
It may be "far beyond our poor powers to add or detract" when marking her passing, but your joint marking of the contribution she made to build our community into a better and more attractive place to live, work and raise families can only help encourage that kind of enterprise in those left behind.
