JC man given 5-year sentence for drug pleas

A Jefferson City man was sentenced to five years in prison for pleading guilty to multiple drug charges.

Patrick Love, 26, of 811 E. Dunklin St., is charged with one count each of possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine and selling an imitation controlled substance.

His sentence is to run concurrent with all other sentences against him.

In May, authorities said Love was found to be actively using narcotics when taken into custody at an apartment in the 200 block of Cherry Street.

He later sold what he claimed was crack cocaine to a confidential law enforcement informant.

Tests later showed the substance Love sold tested negative for any controlled substances.
