ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis County police are searching for an armed man who entered a hospice and demanded narcotics before fleeing.

Officer Brian Schellman says St. Anthony's Medical Center was placed on lockdown early today after the hospital reported that a man armed with a handgun entered the de Greeff Hospice, confronted a nurse and told the nurse to take him to where the narcotics were located.

The nurse ran from the man, who police believe then ran out of an unlocked door, likely before police arrived.

Schellman says no injuries were reported.

The hospital and hospice were placed on lockdown while authorities searched the area. The lockdown was lifted shortly after noon, and Schellman says police found no suspects or weapons.

He says authorities are continuing to search for the gunman.
