INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Seimone Augustus' rebound basket as time expired lifted the Minnesota Lynx to their 10th consecutive victory, 66-64 over the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night.
Lindsay Whalen's jumper rolled off the rim in the final seconds, and Augustus snuck in for her fifth rebound and the winning score. She was mobbed by her teammates in the free-throw lane.
With just a handful of games left and playoff positions still up for grabs, Augustus' 18 points helped the Lynx (23-6) keep pace with Phoenix for the West's top spot. Indiana (13-16) is still competing for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Karima Christmas led the Fever with 15 points, and Erlana Larkins finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
MERCURY 75, DREAM 67
PHOENIX (AP) - Brittney Griner had 14 points, nine rebounds and nine blocked shots, and Phoenix set a franchise mark for wins in a season.
Diana Taurasi had nine of her 14 points in the fourth quarter for Phoenix (24-4), which has won 17 of 18. Candice Dupree added 16 points and six rebounds.
Angel McCoughtry scored 19 points for Atlanta (17-11), which has lost six of eight. All-Star Shoni Schimmel added 13 points and five assists.
The Mercury used an 11-3 start in the fourth quarter to erase a 51-47 deficit.
Penny Taylor had 13 points and eight assists for the Mercury, who have won a franchise-best 13 straight at home.
SHOCK 96, SPARKS 90
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Odyssey Sims scored 30 points for Tulsa, and Glory Johnson and Skylar Diggins each had 18 points.
Johnson added nine rebounds as the Shock (11-19) snapped a two-game losing streak and moved to 2 1/2 games out of a playoff spot with four games remaining.
Sims scored 15 points in the fourth quarter, including consecutive baskets on a 3-pointer and a drive in the paint to complete a 19-8 run that put the game away. The Sparks pulled to 95-90 with eight seconds remaining, but were forced to foul.
Nneka Ogwumike scored a career-high 35 points and Candace Parker had 28 points, nine assists and four rebounds for the Sparks (13-16), who missed a chance to clinch a playoff berth.
MYSTICS 79, LIBERTY 46
WASHINGTON (AP) - Ivory Latta scored 16 points and Kia Vaughn had 12, leading Washington to the easy win.
The second-place Mystics (14-15) stopped a two-game slide and moved 1 1/2 games ahead of the Liberty (12-16) in the Eastern Conference. New York dropped into fifth, a half-game back of Chicago and Indiana.
Washington grabbed control with a 29-6 first-half run. It led 37-22 at the break.
Tina Charles had 10 points for the Liberty, who had won eight of 12 games. New York shot 28.8 percent from the field en route to its fewest points this season.
The Mystics turned 16 Liberty turnovers into 22 points.
SKY 82, SUN 66
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - Epiphanny Prince had 20 points and six assists, helping Chicago to the road win.
Reserve Allie Quigley scored 17 and Sylvia Fowles added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Sky (13-16). Elena Delle Donne finished with 15 points.
The Sky moved into a tie for third in the East with the win and losses by the Liberty and Fever.
Rookie Alyssa Thomas had 15 points and six rebounds for the Sun (11-19). Kelsey Bone added 14 points and eight rebounds.
Prince scored 10 unanswered points late in the third quarter. That included three layups, two of which resulted in three-point plays, and helped Chicago to a 58-51 edge.
