Jefferson City inspected 68 food services during the month of June.
The inspections note critical and non-critical violations.
Critical violations are the more serious, as they're more likely to compromise food safety and cause health problems.
Critical violations often concern improper food temperatures, either on a stove/grill or in holding areas after cooking or before cooking, such as in a refrigerator. They also could involve plumbing repairs, personal hygiene, people handling food who are sick, or contamination such as pest infestations.
Non-critical violations are more minor offenses, which could deal with cleaning/maintenance of floors, walls, ceilings, open waste receptacles, unshielded light bulbs in a food preparation area, or a missing thermometer in a refrigerator.
The June inspections noted:
• YMCA Grade Camps summer food program, 424 Stadium Blvd., three non-critical violations. Observed: Two bay sinks with portable third sanitizing container in use; ice maker mold-like substance; bottom interior of left Turbo Air cooler is dirty.
• Wendy's, 3536 Country Club Drive, one non-critical violation. Observed: Insert pans and lids observed with cracked edges in dishroom.
• Bee Line Snack Shops: 2205 Southridge Drive, three non-critical violations. Observed: no soap or paper towels provided at hand wash sink, only at triple sink in back; no thermometer present for cook's use; Tornados held for service on roller grill were below required 135 F; corn dogs in warmer were below 135 F during service/holding; canned drinks found in submerged in undrained ice chest during service/holding.
• Break Time, 1907 E. McCarty St., one non-critical. Observed: both water heater (handsink) cabinet and slushie cabinet in disrepair.
• Cakes by Billie Sue, 719 S. Country Club Drive, no violations cited.
• China King, 3720 W. Truman Blvd., Suite A, no violations cited.
• Convenient Food Mart, 3714 W. Truman Blvd., one non-critical violation. Observed: missing or chipped floor tile on elevated platform near ice cream cabinet.
• Daisy Delight, 2715 E. McCarty St., no violations cited.
• Domino's Pizza, 1717 Christy Drive, two non-critical violations. Observed: light bulb shielding observed with dead insects in cover, insert pans located on clean dish, shelves have cracks along edges.
• Dunn Bros. Coffee, 3218 W. Edgewood Drive, Suite 1300, one critical violation. Observed: three compartment hot water faucet not working/water valve leaking below sink. Four non-critical violations cited. Observed: outside trash receptacle used for restaurant does not have lids; sanitizer not at correct concentration in 3-compartment sink; counter tops and drawer have coffee beans/grounds accumulation behind equipment; gasket in disrepair on 3-door beverage air and single door beverage air cooler.
• Ecco Lounge, 703 Jefferson St., three non-critical violations. Observed: Alto Sham door latch barely attached; no paper towels present at bar hand wash sink; downstairs slice has ring of cheese present, light shield in beer walk-in cooler has dust, mold spots present.
• El Espolon Mexican Restaurant, 915 Eastland Drive, no violations cited.
• Fazoli's Restaurant, 2333 Missouri Blvd.: three non-critical violations. Observed: upper inner edge of bulk ice machine not clean; plastic ice buckets observed with cracked corners on bottom, rubber grip coating on dipping spoons handles cracking; floors have dust debris accumulation under front service cooler, liquid pooling behind left customer soda dispenser on counter top.
• Golden China Restaurant, 2021 Missouri Blvd., no violations cited.
• Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet, 730 W. Stadium Blvd., no violations cited.
• Baymont Inn & Suites bar, hotel breakfast, 319 W. Miller St., two non-critical violations. Observed: left side of four-bay sink leaks (bar); boxes of single-service articles stored on the floor.
• Hunan Restaurant, 1416 Missouri Blvd., three non-critical violations. Observed: several live roaches noted by bulk ingredient bins; two holes in drywall by ice maker, gouge in floor by wok station; underside and beneath woks and cook line have some accumulated grease.
• Jimmy Johns, 128 E. High St., one non-critical violation. Observed: grease trap lid milling plug.
• Lee's Famous Recipe, 1550 Missouri Blvd., three non-critical violations. Observed: chlorine test strips not available to check chlorine sanitizer solution of commercial dishwasher; clothing items (shoes, pants) observed stored with single service items; convection oven and commercial dishwasher observed with buildup of food debris, clean and maintain.
• Love Sushi, 2201 Missouri Blvd., no violations cited.
• McDonald's, 1425 Missouri Blvd., two non-critical violations. Observed: light cover absent over light in dry goods storeroom; inner portion of soda nozzle in customer self-service areas not clean.

• New China Restaurant, 905 Eastland Drive, Suite D, six non-critical violations. Observed: absorbent wood observed under microwave; vitamin/dietary supplements stored above food preparation station; sprayer faucet for commercial dishwasher observed with shoe string/not easily cleanable cover, wrapped around handle; food debris accumulated on floor ground dry goods storage rack; litter present in front of exterior premises parking lot; rice scoop observed stored in room temperature water.

• Subway Store, 906 Eastland Drive, Suite A, one non-critical violation. Observed: dust accumulation on wall and floor behind baking oven.
