Detours around the latest part of the Business 50 improvement project at Apache Flats will be in place Monday.
Workers will start removing and replacing the subgrade of the road with new base material on the eastbound and center lanes. Cole County public works officials said crews will start around Enterprise Drive and work toward the west.
During this time, the eastbound and center lanes will be closed at the work area. The westbound lanes will remain open and will be one-way traffic.
Eastbound traffic will detour to South Binder Lake Road or Pioneer Trail Drive up to Rainbow Drive. Once on Rainbow Drive, the detour will stay on that road to Country Club Drive.
The work area will be changing from day to day, and the detour routes will be adjusted accordingly.
Once the work progresses past the Pioneer Trail Drive intersection, traffic will be detoured from Rainbow Drive back down to Business 50 via Pioneer Trail Drive.
This operation is expected to be finished by Friday, weather permitting. At that time, two-way traffic will resume on the whole length of Business 50.
