FULTON, Mo. - Westminster pitcher Deion Hughes (Helias High School) is at the top of the list in the NCAA Division III rankings for strikeouts per nine innings for the second consecutive week.
The sophomore right-hander strikes out an average of 13.69 batters per nine innings and also leads the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with an 8-0 record.
Hughes' perfect record and 1.50 ERA is also a Westminster season record.
At the plate, Hughes is hitting .384 and leads the Blue Jays with a .466 on-base percentage.
Westminster will host No. 2 Webster University at 6 p.m. today.
