Eugene romps to boys golf title

EUGENE, Mo. - Drew Geritz of Eugene captured medalist honors while the Eagles ran away with the team title Wednesday in the Show-Me Conference Tournament at Redfield Golf and Country Club.

Geritz fired an even-par 72 in the cool and windy conditions to take top honors. Led by Geritz, Eugene captured the first five individual places. Carson Doerhoff (81) was second, followed by Jeremy Evers (82) and Austin Russell and Cody Shaw (both with 83s).

Eugene totaled a 318 to win the title. Fatima was second at 377, followed by South Callaway (379), New Bloomfield (397), Russellville (409) and Linn (429).

Also finishing in the top 10 to earn all-conference honors were Garner Rudroff of South Callaway (84), Blake Parker of South Callaway (84), Devin Koestner of Russellville (92), Carson Kramer of Fatima (92) and Ridge Martin of New Bloomfield (92).

Other Russellville scores included Coy Bond (97), Levi Anderson (98), Austin Garrison (122) and Cody Willingham (124).

Eugene will play host to the Class 2 District 4 Tournament on Monday at Redfield. Other area schools in the 10-team tournament include Blair Oaks, California, Fatima, South Callaway, Southern Boone and Versailles.
