COLUMBIA - The Columbia Cougars earned a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against Benedictine University-Springfied in eight innings in the quarterfinal round of the American Midwest Conference Tournament on Saturday.
Columbia, the No. 2 seed, improves to 28-14 on the season with the win.
Marli Hayes (Jefferson City High School) and Whitni Howell (Jefferson City High School) both had hits to help pace the Cougars at the plate.
Columbia will host No. 3 seed Park University at noon Thursday in an AMC Tournament semifinal game at Antimi Black Field in Columbia.
