Blair Oaks frosh go 2-0

WARDSVILLE - The Blair Oaks Falcons won their first two games of the Blair Oaks Freshman Tournament on Friday.

The Falcons held off Helias 3-2 in Game 1, before rolling past Southern Boone for a 7-1 victory in Game 2.

Both contests went five innings.

Jason Rackers was the winning pitcher and had the game-winning hit to lead the Falcons in the opener.

Rackers threw a complete game, allowing two runs (no earned) on two hits, while walking four and striking out two in five innings.

Kade Franks led off the bottom of the fifth with a double and ended up scoring the game-winning run.

Ethan Rackers had one hit and drove in a run, while Mason Gipe and Ryan Paschal each added a hit to lead Blair Oaks in the opener.

Tanner Abbott earned the victory in Game 2 for the Falcons, surrendering one run on five hits, while striking out nine in five innings.

Paschal had two hits and drove in three runs, while Thomas Verslues, Jason Rackers and Gipe all had a hit and an RBI.

The Falcons (14-4) will play in the championship game at 4:30 p.m. today.
