Your Opinion: Simple solution earns thumbs up

Dear Editor:

There seems to be a lot of right-wing politicians running around the room with their hair on fire about voter fraud these days. Well Ryans and Cruzes of America, never fear, there is a solution: "Thumb-print readers." Aaah, the wonders of technology.

A thumb-print reader at every polling place in America will make voter fraud impossible. You can't fake a thumb-print; so the voter fraud problem (assuming that there is a problem) will vanish permanently.

Issue resolved.

Afraid that your thumb print might not be in the database - no problem, the print of your right big toe is on your birth certificate; just take off your shoe. (You do it at the airport.) But then again your thumb print is probably already in the database and you don't even know it.

Think about how quickly and efficiently it will speed up the voting process: no more having to carry around those crumpled up pieces of blue paper (voter registration cards) in your wallet; no more long, slow-moving lines to the voting booth; no more looking for your name and address and putting your signature on the dotted in those binders full of paper; and best of all the corporations (or rather the job creators) who provide the voting machines can charge us all more money through our tax dollars for the use of their thumb print readers - everybody wins!

See. Simple problem solved.

Maybe Missouri can take the lead; I say: Thumb-print Readers November 2014.
