LU women conclude play in MIAA Golf Championship

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Lincoln wrapped up play in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Championship on Wednesday, with three players representing the Blue Tigers as individuals.

The three-day tournament consisted of three rounds played at the Alvamar Golf Club.

Sophia Pardalos led Lincoln with a 32nd-place finish after finishing with a three-day total of 282. The junior from Helias High School posted a 95 in the opening round and carded a 97 on Tuesday. Pardalos played her best set of 18 holes on Wednesday, finishing with a 90.

Lauren McHenry made the biggest improvements between rounds, shooting a 93 on Wednesday for her best 18-hole score of the tournament. McHenry, who opened tournament play with rounds of 107 and 105, took 42nd in the individual field with a total sum of 305.

Mackenzie Wilson finished 44th after posting a three-day total of 314. Wilson carded a 107 on Monday and Wednesday and shot a 100 on Tuesday.

The Blue Tigers are expected to field a full team for the PGA Minority Collegiate Championship, played on Ryder Course at the PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Fla. from May 8-11.
