Lady Crusaders down Lady Tigers in soccer

SEDALIA, Mo. - Four Lady Crusaders scored goals Wednesday as Helias defeated the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers 4-2.

Jordan Poire, Becky Robers, Tiffany Weaver and Meghan Nappier all scored for Helias. Roberts and Nappier also picked up assists.

Helias outschot Smith-Cotton 28-4 in the contest.

Helias (9-5, ranked No. 7 in Class 2) will play Friday and Saturday in the Capital City Invitational at the 179 Soccer Park. Helias will play twice Friday, facing Lee's Summit West at noon and Springfield Catholic at 6 p.m. The Lady Crusaders will wrap up the event with at 9 a.m. Saturday against Rock Bridge.

In Wednesday's junior varsity game, Helias (8-1-1) posted a 7-0 victory against Smith-Cotton.

Kayla Yanskey had two goals, while Sarah Pierle, Ashley Rehagen, Kelsey Schenewerk, Maggie Kehoe and Maddie Casten all added one.

Julie Harris had two assists, while Paige Weaver, Ashten Lorts and Casten each added one.
